A home is an aggregation of people and things, caught in a particular time and space.

This is one of a series of fanciful compositions, titled Digitally Constructed Landscapes, that somehow escape the limitations of time and space.

It features all of my ancestors for whom I have images.

For reasons I can’t entirely explain to myself, I’ve marked their inter-connectedness by housing them within a fantastical flying apartment building, towed across the sky by a tour boat. As the hot sun beats down on them, a second world war Spitfire seeks precious altitude. 

My earliest predecessor, the weary-looking figure at the top, is William Bentley, born in England around 1770.
