I’m enchanted by the raw beauty and stunning contradictions in the landscapes of our outer world.
But feeling restless to create something new, I came up with a rather unusual series, fantastical compositions excavated from an inner landscape.
Fortunately, I found inspiration in these five disparate artists:
• Laurent Chéhère and his stunning flying houses.
• Jerome Conway, who creates compiled images so beautifully integrated that they appear to be other-worldly paintings.
• Terry Gilliam who created remarkable animations for the television series Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
My grandmother Lilian, a talented though unrecognized watercolourist.
My great grandfather Herbert, a skilled landscape painter.
